Instructions to Remove the Propeller From a WaveRunner

For those who enjoy speed and agility on the open waters, the Yamaha-made WaveRunner personal watercraft is the ticket. The WaveRunner has a small hull with a motorcycle-style seat and handlebars. However, it's powerful engine is propelled by an outboard-style boat motor. Unfortunately, logs and other debris in the water can mess up your WaveRunner's propeller pretty badly, making it necessary to remove and replace it.

Instructions

    1

Pull your WaveRunner out of the water onto a trailer so that you can easily access the propeller.

    2

Use pliers to bend down the cotter pin at the base of the propeller and then pull it up and out.

    3

Affix a block of wood between the propeller and the rear of the WaveRunner. The block of wood should be approximately six to eight inches long. It is used to keep the propeller from inadvertently moving or slipping while the propeller nut is removed.

    4

Slip the propeller removal tool around the WaveRunner's propeller nut and turn it counterclockwise to remove. Pull the propeller off once you have removed the nut.
