How to Check / Test Computer Power Supply (ATX)

One of the main components in the computer device is a Power Supply, without a power supply, computer would not be able to work.

When a desktop computer has a problem, for example, can't be started, hang, or always restarting itself frequently, it can be caused by many reasons, one of which could be due to power supply that has a problem / damaged, and must be replaced with new one.

To make sure an ATX power supply is damaged or not (ATX is Advanced Technology eXtended,is a common type of power supply used on any desktop computer at the moment), we can check this by measuring the output voltage at each output terminal using a volt meter / AVO meter (Ampere Volt Ohm meter).

Measuring an ATX power supply using an AVO meter will indeed obtain accurate results, but require a longer time because we have to measure each output terminal, (+3.3 V, +5 V, +12 V,-5V,-12V ), and we have to understand about the electric voltage and current, and understand how to use the AVO meter. Of course not everyone can do it.
