Bumper Repair - Do You Need To Go To A Body Shop?

You are on your way to the store and your in a bit of a hurry. Your thinking about what you need to get to get dinner put together. When you get to the store you find a parking spot that is super close to the entrance. This is your lucky day. You hurry about in the store. In and out in under 15 minutes. That has got to be a new world record. As you are jogging back to your car you notice something is not right.

You have a big black and red mark on the corner of your bumper. Upon closer inspection you notice you not only have a black and red mark on your bumper but the black mark is actually the bumper cover under the paint.

You look at the parking space next to you and of course it is empty. You walk around the car looking for some kind of note but apparently the nice upstanding citizen who scraped your bumper chose to remain anonymous.

You drive home and are steamed. You would have left a note if you accidentally damaged someone's car. As you start cooling off you start to think about your choices. You have decided that you have three choices.

1. You can make an insurance claim but your deductible is $250 dollars and your insurance will go up from making a claim.

2. You can drive around with a scraped bumper.

3. You can take it to the body shop and pay $600-$700 dollars to get a corner blend done so your car looks like it did before someone so nicely scraped it.

None of those options is that appealing and you really want your car fixed.

So if you need bumper scrape repair is it necessary to get your bumper fixed at a body shop?

No. There are other options.
