How to Disassemble a Bose Radio CD Player in an Envoy

The Bose radio/CD player in your GMC Envoy is held in to the vehicle through four screws. Removing those screws allows you to remove the radio unit from the vehicle in order to repair or replace it. Disassembling the unit itself is fairly simple as it is also held together by a few screws. Once you have removed those screws, you can pull the unit apart in order to perform any repairs.

Instructions

    1

Open the Envoy's hood and disconnect its battery with a socket wrench. This will prevent any accidental shocks when removing the unit.

    2

Open the Envoy's driver's side door and remove the plastic panel from around the radio with a slotted screwdriver. Insert the screwdriver underneath the panel and pry upwards to remove it.

    3

Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the four screws securing the Bose radio to your Envoy.

    4

Disconnect the radio's electrical harness at the rear of the unit. Pull it out of the Envoy.

    5

Remove the securing screws from the Bose radio/CD player unit with a Phillips screwdriver. Once all of the screws are removed, you can disassemble the unit by pulling it apart.
