Have you ever thought about installing new speakers? You can find the speakers located either in your car or in the dash or on the side of the doors. No matter where your car speakers are and you need to learn how to wire car speaker. Installing car speaker will need connection of the speaker wires to the new one.

In-Dash Speakers

Step 1
Find out the screw or friction fitting for the fix of the speaker grille. Pry up on the grille with a flat head screwdriver when a friction fitting is in use. Unscrew the grille with a Phillips head screwdriver.
Step 2
Unscrew the existing speaker and pull the speaker out of the dash. Then you can find the speaker wires. Disconnect the wires from the terminals on the speaker. Pay attention to colors of the wires on the “+” and “-” terminals of the speaker.
Step 3
Connect the positive wire to the “+” terminal on your new speaker. Connect the negative wire to the “-” terminal on the speaker. Mount the speaker into the dash. Insert the screws into the mounting holes and tighten in order to fix the speaker in the dash. Mount the grille back in place and press to set the friction fittings.

In-Door Speakers

Step 1
Find the notch which is used to dismount the grille from the door panel. Position a flat head screwdriver into the notch and apply proper force to pry off the grille. Loosen the screws which are used for the purpose of securing the speaker to the door with a Phillips head screwdriver. Pull the speaker out of the door to expose the wires.
Step 2
Pull the wiring connector out to disconnect the wiring connector from the speaker. Attach a universal wiring harness to the terminals on the speaker. Plug the other end of your universal wiring harness into the original wiring harness. It is of great importance to ensure that the polarity of the each wiring harness is correct. If your vehicle does not feature a wiring harness, use a crimp tool to crimp the wires onto the speaker terminals.
Step 3
Check to see if all of the speaker wire connections are attached. Screw the speaker to the door. Set the grille back on the door panel and press until you hear it snap into place.
Note: Remove your dashboard to access the speakers, when the speaker grilles can not be removed. Remove the door panel on older vehicles to access an in-door speaker.
