The Blue Coral Galaxy S7 edge is meant to alleviate the losses Samsung suffered after the Galaxy Note 7 has been recalled twice. It's also an attempt to keep customers interested in a device that's been released more than six months ago.
The Galaxy S7 will be the only flagship launched this year that Samsung proposes to those looking for a high-end smartphone during the holiday season. That's one of the reason the South Korean company has decided to ramp up production of both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge for the remainder of the year.
Obviously, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are great devices, but it remains to be seen whether or not they will remain competitive now that Google launched the Pixel phones, LG introduced the V20, and Huawei is about to start selling the Mate 9. Not to mention that the best-selling smartphone during the holiday season, the iPhone 7, is going to take a big slice of the sales this year, too.
