Porsche 928 Specs

The Porsche 928 was manufactured from 1978 to 1995. Originally released as a meaning van in 1971, the Porsche 928 did not create its debut at the Geneva Car Appearance until Hike 1977. Solitary offered as a two-door coupe, the Porsche 928 was the anterior Porsche created with the engine in the front.

The latest Porsche 928 was produced from 1978 to 1982 and came integrated with a water-cooled, aluminium, 4.5-liter, eight-cylinder engine. This engine produced 284 horsepower in 1985 and 288 horsepower in 1986.

Porsche 928 S4/GT

Porsche produced the 928 S4 from 1987 to 1991 and built the 928 GT from 1989 to 1991. The 302-cubic-inch engine was maintained for both vehicles. The transmissions originally offered in the Porsche 928 were a three-speed automatic and a five-speed manual. Weighing 3,420 pounds, the original Porsche 928 was 14.59 feet long with an 8.2-foot wheelbase. The car was 6.03 feet wide and 4.31 feet tall. Porsche 928 S


From 1983 to 1986, the Porsche 928 S was produced in the original 928's place. The engine used for this car was a 285-cubic-inch, V8 engine with a compression ratio of 9.3 to 1. The same bore and stroke were used from the original 928, but the engine produced 238 horsepower at 5,250 rpm. A four-speed automatic transmission took the place of the three-speed transmission, and the five-speed manual was still available. The car weighed slightly more than the original at 3,540 pounds. The same fuel economy was produced from the 928 S as the original 928. A zero-to-60 time of 6.1 seconds was possible with this car, with a top speed of 154 mph. In 1985 the engine was changed to a 302-cubic-inch engine with a compression ratio of 10.0 to 1. This 273-cubic-inch engine was rated for 219 horsepower at 5,250 rpm. The torque grading for this engine was 254 foot-pounds at 3,600 rpm. The Muzzle of the engine was 3.74 inches, and the stroke was 3.11 inches. A compression ratio of 8.5 to 1 was used for these vehicles.



The 10.0-to-1 compression ratio was also maintained. The engine had a bore of 3.94 inches and a stroke of 3.11 inches. The engine was rated for an output of 316 horsepower at 5,250 rpm. The four-speed automatic came on the S4; a five-speed manual transmission was used on the GT. The dimensions and fuel economy of the 928 S4/GT were also consistent with the previous 928. The 928 S4/GT went from zero to 60 in 5.5 seconds. This car boasted a top speed of 165 mph.


Porsche 928 GTS


The last production of Porsche 928 series, the GTS, offered 345 horsepower at 5,700 rpm from its 329-cubic-inch V8 engine. This aluminum engine has a bore of 4.09 inches and a stroke of 3.46 inches. A compression ratio of 10.4 to 1 was used for the 1995 GTS engine. It is rated for 369 foot-pounds of torque at 4,250 rpm. The 1995 GTS could go from zero to 60 in 5.14 seconds with a top speed of 171 miles per hour. In 1995, when the 928 was discontinued, the automatic four-speed and five-speed manual transmissions were still available. The 1995 Porsche 928 weighs 3,593 pounds. It is 14.84 feet long with a wheelbase of 8.2 feet. The 928 is 6.2 feet wide and 4.21 feet tall. Fuel economy for the 928 GTS was 12 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway.
