Santiago de Cuba Rum

Ron Santiago de Cuba

In the old town of Santiago de Cuba
there is a distillery that has produced
Rum since 1868. The man who used
the distillery was Don Facundo Barcardi
Masso. You probably recognize the name
Barcardi. In 1959 the Barcardi Family
left the Island after the revolution. The
Cuban government took over the
grounds and uses it to make the Ron
Santiago de Cuba Rum today.

The old distillery as you can see is rich in history. Today there are several brands that are produced out of the facility and over 9 million Liters a year.
The rum is perfectly distilled and aged. There are several aged bottles, 11 year, 12 year, 20 year and 25 year old Rum.

The Rum is smooth and has a Orange Peel and Toasted Coconut flavor with a hint of Leather and Oak Spice. Each age will differ in the smoothness and taste. The older Rum seems to have a more Vanilla and dark Chocolate tone.
The Alcohol content will range between 35% to 40%.
