The 1952 Jaguar XK120

World Land Speed Record

    Jaguar XK120

Driven by Jaguar's test driver Norman Dewis, this car set the World Land Speed Record in 1953 achieving just over 172 mph in the Flying Mile at Jabbeke Highway inBelgium.  Jeff Lotman owns MDU 524 with JD Classics which restored this beauty.
The MDU 524 had been racing before the Land Speed Record. The XK120 had won its class in the prestigious Alpine Rally in 1952.

Mr. Lotman and JD Classics had obtained the KX 120 after it had 100,000 miles on it.

After 18 months of restoring the MDU 524 was put back to its original competition specs including the Perspex bubble.

The specs for the Land Speed car are not
available but I took the liberty of supplying
you with the XK120 original specs.
