Ocean Aged Bourbon

Jefferson's Bourbon Whiskey
Ocean Aged at Sea

Founded in 1997 Trey Zoeller and his father Chet continued the family tradition that dates back to 1799 when Mr. Zoeller's 8th generation grandmother was arrested for the production and sale of liquor.

Hhmmm! I wonder what straight Kentucky Bourbon
Whiskey would taste like if it were aged on a ship in
barrels for 4 years? Hhhhmmm! Well my friends let
me tell you, its great! This aging process takes the
whiskey and blends it with the moist sea air. Where
the whiskey is aged is just as important as how long
the spirit ages.

As you can see the salt water air aged whiskey takes on a deep caramel color and a dual flavor. A 44% /80 proof bourbon aged in barrels put out to sea on the OCEARCH research vessel. Jefferson's master blender and founder Trey Zoeller came up with the idea and a portion of the proceeds goes back to the non profit organization for research.

The characteristics of this whiskey are very up front. There are hints of cherry, caramel and a cross between vanilla and marzipan. The aroma in the air has cinnamon and raisin in it. A very limited amount of bottles can be produced this way so when you get the chance dive in. :-)

Cost $62.99 - $199
