Stylish wet rooms with Lisa Melvin Design

As wet rooms become one of the latest must-haves for showering bliss, Lisa Melvin Design says it's essential that you work with an expert, with plenty of new product knowledge who can manage your project from start to finish.

"We are passionate about delivering a top quality service to residential and commercial clients and our product knowledge is second to none. We test new products and use this information to enable us to produce unique wet rooms with attention to detail that the user can enjoy for years to come," says director and interior architect Lisa Melvin.

Lisa Melvin Design works closely with manufacturers who keep them fully informed on the latest innovations. This includes the Duravit Sensowash, an outstanding shower toilet design, which cleans you with a jet of warm water for outstanding hygiene and has already been factored into a number of wet room designs they have recently worked on.

Lisa Melvin's essential tips for wet room bliss:
1. Epoxy grout is highly recommended to prevent grout discoloration.
2. Use rectified tiles (mechanically finished on all sides for a uniform size and maximum precision) for large tiles as they can be fitted more closely to one another.
3. Consider the water system you have (high or low) and make sure the water pressure leading to your home is checked to see if it can accommodate your needs.
4. Choose underfloor heating as this enables any water to evaporate quickly and keeps your toes toasty.
5. Think about how easy the wet room will be to clean from a wall-hung toilet with a fully removable seat to mirrors with demister pads and shower panels impregnated with limescale preventers.
