The Silverado name was introduced by GM to designate certain trim levels in the C-and K-series pickups, until 1999. The 1998 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was equipped with a 4.3-liter, 200-horsepower V-6 engine in the base model; a 5.0-liter V-8 and a 5.7-liter V-8 were optional in the 1998 Silverado. The wiper arms on the 1998 Silverado are attached to the wiper transmission links. The links have external gears that align with the internal gears of the wiper arm lower end. Usually, a wiper arm is removed for painting rust spots, or because it is bent.
