Turn the F-250's engine off and remove the truck's keys from its ignition.
2Remove the four screws from the shift lever boot with a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the boot.
3Remove the nut and bolt from the shift lever with a socket wrench. Pull off the shift lever.
4Attach the new shift lever using the nut and bolt.
5Reattach the boot and its four retainer screws using a Phillips screwdriver.
