The Buick LeSabre was produced from the 1950s until the year 2005 and was one of the longest running auto models in production. The rear brakes in the 2005 LeSabre are disc brakes; and when they need to be replaced, this will require that the brake pads be replaced. Replacing the brake pads will take a few specialty tools and an hour or two.
Instructions
Removing the Old Brake Pads

Chock the rear wheels to prevent the car from moving when changing the brake pads. Use a car jack to raise the vehicle high enough to remove the rear wheels. Place jack stands underneath the car to ensure your safety in case the jack breaks.
2Remove the rear tires by loosening and removing the lug nuts then remove the tires.
3Turn the caliper slide bolts in a counterclockwise direction to loosen and remove them with a 10 mm socket. Loosen the caliper bolt attached to the caliper bracket with a 12 mm socket. Pivot the brake caliper up then slide out the brake pads.
Installing the New Brake Pads

Pivot the brake caliper up and slide in the new brake pads. Replace the caliper slide bolts in a clockwise direction and tighten them with the 10 mm socket.
5Remount the rear tires by replacing and re-tightening the lug nuts.
6Remove the chocks and lower the jack.
