How to Upgrade a 2006 RX330 Stereo Receiver

Introduced in 1998, the Lexus RX330 is a mid-size SUV manufactured by the Toyota Motor Company. You can upgrade the stereo receiver in your 2006 RX330 with a few tools, but you will need a new receiver to install into the RX330. The replacement procedure is very simple and should not take more than 10 minutes to complete, but you will need to disconnect the RX330's battery to prevent any accidental shocks.

Instructions

    1

Place the shifter into the neutral position and turn off the engine. Open the RX330's hood and disconnect the battery with a socket wrench.

    2

Use a hooked tool to pry off the wooden panel around the shifter, then the wooden panel above the shifter. Place those two panels aside.

    3

Remove the four bolts underneath the stereo with a socket extension.

    4

Pull the stereo receiver out of the central dashboard. Disconnect the three electrical wiring connectors from the receiver and remove it from the RX330.

    5

Place the new receiver into the central dashboard and connect the three connectors. Reattach the four bolts. Reinstall the two wooden panels and reconnect the battery.
