How to Replace the Window Switch in a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country

The Town & Country was the first luxury model minivan ever offered in the United States. Released in 1990, the Town & Country entered its fourth generation in 2001, when Chrysler also integrated the Dodge and Plymouth models into their line of minivans. The Chrysler includes one-touch window control thanks to the power window switch. The only downfall to the power window system is loss of window control should the switch or motor short circuit. If that occurs with your Town & Country, and you have a modicum of mechanical aptitude, you can replace the window switch in short order.

Instructions

    1

Pry the window switch bezel from the door panel carefully, using a trim tool.

    2

Depress the door harness retaining clip on the connector where it plugs into the base of the power window switch. Pull the connector out of the switch.

    3

Push the old switch out of the window switch bezel. Insert the new switch into the switch bezel until it snaps into place.

    4

Plug the door harness wiring connector into the base of the new power window switch until the retaining clip clicks into place.

    5

Set the switch bezel back in the door and push down gently until it snaps into position.
