How to Attach Bumpers to a 56 Thunderbird

The front and rear bumpers of your 1956 Ford Thunderbird are important minimizing the damage of a collision. If the bumpers are damaged in an accident, you should replace them as soon as you can for safety purposes. The Thunderbird's bumpers are held in place by several bolts. Once those bolts are removed, you remove the bumpers and then install new ones in a matter of minutes.

Instructions

    1

Park the Thunderbird on a flat, level surface and engage the parking brake.

    2

Remove the four bolts from underneath the bumper. There is one on each side and two on the middle. Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts.

    3

Remove the two bolts from the top of the bumper. Pull the bumper off the front of the vehicle.

    4

Reattach the bumper and reinstall the bolts. Replacing the rear bumper is the same process.
