Although this particular holiday can prove discouraging to some transmission repair businesses, there are several things that business owners can do to take advantage of this time of year and increase their overall customer base.
One of the things they can do is offer holiday discounts. Discounts and sales get just about anyone's attention. As previously mentioned, most people are spending much of their money on gifts during Christmas time, therefore being able to save money is something that they will appreciate.
Along with discounts, they can also offer free services. Of course, it wouldn't be wise to offer free services to everyone who asks. However, they could do something like offer their first 20 customers of the month, free transmission fluid. This may seem like a small and insignificant gesture, but there are many people who could use something this type of offer, especially during the holidays.
Now, it's one thing to have the idea to offer discounts and free items. However, the businesses must then figure out how to market their discount campaign to potential customers. This may be a seemingly difficult thing to do during this particular time of year. That's because they must compete with various other business advertisements.
So, the best way to get the job done is to play off of the holiday theme. If possible, the businesses could advertise their companies during the same time and in the same places that most other businesses advertise. Therefore, if most of the local entities are advertising in the Sunday paper, the transmission repair shop should do the same. This will give them a better opportunity to be seen.
Even though the holidays may seem like a slow time for certain types of businesses, it doesn't necessarily have to be that way. All it takes is a little diligence and creativity.
