A Hutch Editorial: WinXP SP2 - The Saga Begins

Well, I just couldn't take it any more. I wanted to run with the cool kids and have the latest and greatest, and that meant loading Windows XP Service Pack 2. For those of you who don't know me, I've tweaked my system, I've loaded all kinds of garbage, I've edited the registry until I've been asked to leave. Basically it should be rebuilt, but I don't have the time or desire to do that right now. In fact, I haven't rebuilt my PC since November of '03 (a personal record).

After wanting to do some security checks for clients, I figured I couldn't preach the party-line of "update, update, update" if I didn't do it myself. So today I made sure my things were backed-up and I took the plunge. After a half hour of sweating bullets, the process was over. So far, its been painless. I'll update the blog further if things begin to fall apart.
