In the 1986 model year, Ford released a futuristic-looking car known as the Taurus. This vehicle broke the boxy-car mold that Ford had lived by. The 1995 Taurus was the final model year of the second generation, as the lineup received a complete redesign the following year. The 1995 Taurus Wagon came standard with a 140-horsepower, 3.0-liter V-6 engine. The front end of the 1995 Taurus had a rounded front end, but the rear end was relatively flat and had a basic taillight design. This basic design makes for quick replacement of the rear brake lights.
Instructions
- 1
Open the Taurus' rear hatch and remove the two Phillips screws holding the taillight assembly to the vehicle -- one on top of the assembly and one on the bottom -- with a Phillips screwdriver.
2Pull the taillight assembly from the Taurus. Turn the taillight assembly over and turn to see the taillight socket. Turn the socket counterclockwise and pull it from the assembly.
3Grab the bulb and pull it from the socket with a light wiggling motion.
4Grab a new 3057 bulb by its plastic base and press it into the socket. Do not touch the glass part of the bulb with your hands, as the oils left behind may cause the bulb to burn out prematurely.
5Insert the bulb and socket back into the rear of the taillight assembly and turn the socket clockwise to lock it into place.
6Reinstall the taillight assembly on the rear of the Taurus and tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
7Repeat Steps 1 through 6 for the brake light bulb on the other side of the Taurus.
8Close the Taurus' hatch.
