All 1997 Mazda vehicles come with a radio. If you remove your radio to repair or replace it, you will need to properly wire it to your vehicle. To facilitate this, the vehicle comes with a wiring connector that simply needs to be plugged into the radio to utilize it. The radio wiring process should not take more than fifteen minutes. Accessing the radio is fairly simple, since it is only held in by a few screws.
Instructions
- 1
Remove the four screws from the plastic dash trim on the central dash around the radio and A/C unit with a Phillips-head screwdriver.
2Pry off the plastic dash trim with a flat-head screwdriver.
3Remove the four securing screws from the radio with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the radio toward you.
4Reach behind the radio and plug the wiring connector from the dash into the slot at the rear of the radio. It will click into place when secure.
5Place the radio back into the Mazda vehicle and reattach the four securing screws.
6Reattach the plastic dash trim and its screws.
