How to Replace a Feathering Shaft on a Blade SR

The Blade SR is a remote-controlled model helicopter manufactured by Horizon Hobby. One of the more common problems that can afflict the Blade SR is a broken feathering shaft. This can occur if the helicopter crashes into the ground. There is a replacement process for the feathering shaft that can be completed in less than 10 minutes.

Instructions

    1

Remove the main blades with a Phillips screwdriver. Take the screws off each blade and pull the blade off.

    2

Insert screwdrivers into both sides of the feathering shaft and pry it loose.

    3

Remove the screw from the top of the feathering shaft and remove the washer as well.

    4

Insert the fly bar into the feathering shaft and use it to push the feathering shaft out of the helicopter.

    5

Grip the broken feathering shaft with a pair of pliers and remove the second screw on the feathering shaft.

    6

Install the screw into the new feathering shaft and use some adhesive to help secure it.
