The 1995 Mustang was the second year of the fourth generation pony car from Ford Motor Company. One distinguishing feature of all Mustangs from the first to the most recent is the three light configuration of the tail lamp assembly. This three light alignment includes the brake lights, reverse lights and turn signal lights. Ford recommends inspecting your turn signal lights, front and rear, every two weeks and replacing them immediately if you note any bulbs that have burned out. This recommendation extends to all the other exterior lights as well.
Instructions
Front Turn Signal
- 1
Open the Mustang's hood. Turn off the lights and remove the key from the ignition.
2Remove the trim tip from the front lamp assembly trim cover using a flat-head screwdriver. Pull the trim cover aside to expose the rear of the lamp assembly.
3Squeeze the turn signal socket and turn it counterclockwise to release it from the back of the turn signal assembly. Pull the bulb and socket backward to remove it from the lamp assembly.
4Pull the bulb straight out of the socket. Push a new 3157NA bulb into the socket. Insert the new bulb and socket into the lamp assembly. Turn the socket clockwise to lock it in place.
5Place the trim cover back in position and push the trim pin down to reinstall the trim cover.
Rear Turn Signal
- 6
Open the Mustang's trunk. Pry the trunk trim cover off the rear of the trunk using the trim tool to expose the tail lamp mounting nuts. Remove the four nuts using a socket wrench and 7-mm socket.
7Pull the tail lamp assembly off the back of the Mustang. Squeeze the turn signal socket and rotate it counterclockwise to release it from the tail lamp assembly.
8Pull the turn signal bulb and socket out of the tail lamp assembly. Pull the old bulb out and discard it. Push the new 3157 bulb into the socket.
9Insert the new bulb and socket into the tail lamp assembly. Rotate it clockwise to snap it in place. Slide the tail lamp assembly back onto the Mustang.
10Reinstall the tail lamp retaining nuts with the socket and wrench. Snap the trunk trim back into place and close the Mustang's trunk.
