The water pump on the BMW 735i is located at the very front of the engine block, directly behind the cooling fan pulley; the fan pulley is mounted to the shaft that runs the impeller inside the water pump. The pump itself is attached to the engine block with six bolts and has a black rubber hose running into its top. Occasionally, the water pump can become damaged due to usage, requiring that the unit be removed in order to be replaced.
