How do I Put a Car Window in a 2003 Nissan Altima?

Inserting a new window into your 2003 Nissan Altima is usually a job which should be performed by a professional mechanic. However you can carry out the work yourself and save some money. The work itself is pretty straight forward and can be completed in under an hour. You can buy a replacement window for your Altima from your local auto store or a Nissan dealer.

Instructions

    1

Open up the door of your Altima that will receive the new window. Use a flat head screwdriver to pry the screw covers off the door panel. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the mounting screws on the door, then lift the door panel away from the door.

    2

Lower the window regulator to its lowest possible position within the access panel. If a window is already connected to the window regulator, you will have to remove it first by using a hex wrench to remove the hex bolts attached to the window. Lift the window out of the door panel.

    3

Slide the new window into the door frame. Lift the window regulator up within the access panel so that it lines up with the window.

    4

Use a hex wrench to attach the window to the regulator. This will securely connect the window into the frame.

    5

Reattach the door panel by placing it on the door and fixing it in place with the mounting screws.
