In 2000, Ford eliminated the aged, base-level Escort in favor of the all-new Focus model. The ZX2 Escort model remained in production, through, until 2003, and Ford finally completed the Escort-to-Focus changeover in 2004. The four-door 2007 Focus sedan had only front windshield wipers; the three- and five-door Focuses came equipped with a standard rear windshield wiper, as well. The wiper motors driving the windshield wipers have fuses protecting them from electrical surges or shorts.
Passenger Compartment Fuse Panel Location
Ford has positioned the passenger compartment fuse panel just above the brake pedal, to the left of the steering wheel. To access the fuse panel, you must first remove the CD storage box.
Rear Windshield Wiper Fuse
On Focuses fitted with a rear windshield wiper, the fuse is located in the passenger compartment fuse panel. The 15-amp fuse is the third fuse from the top, in the center row of fuses. Use the fuse puller on the fuse panel door to remove the rear wiper fuse.
Front Windshield Wiper Fuse
Ford has positioned the fuse for the front windshield wiper motor in the passenger compartment fuse panel. The fuse is rated at 25 amps; it is the fourth fuse from the top in the row of fuses on the far left of the fuse panel. Use the fuse puller attached to the fuse panel access door to remove and install the fuse.
