How to Remove the Flywheel on a ZRT

The flywheel of your Chevrolet ZRT is a mechanical component of the engine that is connected to the transmission. The flywheel keeps the momentum of your ZRT's engine going so that it does not stop running when you are not accelerating. If your ZRT's flywheel begins to malfunction, you may find that your engine stops whenever you idle. Fortunately, you can remove your vehicle's flywheel in 15 minutes or less.

Instructions

    1

Lift up the hood of your ZRT. Locate the flywheel at the back of the engine compartment.

    2

Uninstall the retainer bolts from the flywheel. Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts. Once all six bolts are removed, hold on to them, as they will be required to reinstall the flywheel.

    3

Grab the flywheel with both hands and pull it out. If you wish to reinstall the flywheel, simply reverse the removal process.
