MICROSOFT: "The Surface will be competitively priced with ULTRABOOKS." This is what Microsoft stated during their Surface launch event. Everyone seemed to re-interpret this as "...competitively priced with the iPad," but that's not what they said. Could this be a strategic move to avoid iPad comparisons (at least in the markets)? Maybe. Will it work? No. If the Surface does not compete on price with the iPad it is DOA.
