How to Wire a Silverado

Like all vehicles, the Chevrolet Silverado requires the use of a battery to operate several of its components. In fact, without the battery, the Silverado's distributor cannot route the initial spark that powers the engine. Thankfully, wiring a Silverado is simple and takes only a few minutes. The battery of the Silverado is in the engine compartment and can be connected using only a socket wrench.

Instructions

    1

Lift the hood of the Silverado and find the battery. Depending on the year model, it can be found either in the upper-right corner or upper-left corner of the engine compartment.

    2

Use a socket wrench to attach the positive terminal wire to the battery. Make sure you do the positive terminal first, for safety reasons. The positive terminal will be red, so make sure to connect only the red one at this time.

    3

Attach the negative terminal wire to the battery using the socket wrench.

    4

Insert the keys into the ignition and turn on the Silverado. If successful, turn the engine off and close the hood. If the truck does not turn on, check the battery wires again.
