The original-equipment factory stereo for your 1992 Volkswagen Golf GTI shares the same industry standard DIN-sized form factor as many aftermarket stereos, making the vehicle a viable candidate for a head unit upgrade, without the need for extraneous mounting accessories necessary. However, reinstalling the original factory radio, after removing an aftermarket unit or upon completion of dashboard-related repairs, may prove necessary in order to restore the original functionality of the vehicle's audio system. Properly wiring the original unit is a crucial aspect when performing the installation process.
