The parking brake on the 2000 Chevy Impala can be adjusted by removing the center console and adjusting two adjustment nuts on the back of the parking brake lever. The parking brake lever should be fully engaged when the lever is pulled straight up with three clicks. If the lever takes more than three clicks to engage the brake, consider adjusting the cable.
