VIA FORBES: Google and Facebook Will Die -- Are Your Friends Already Using Web 3.0?

Remember the Yahoo! juggernaut? Were you on Friendster? Does anyone even use MySpace anymore? We all tend to gather where our friends are. As loyal as you and I might be to Google and Facebook today, it doesn't take much for these loyalties to shift.

While it might not take 5 years--perhaps 2, maybe 10--things will change. For all the talk about Web 1.0 and Web 2.0, we're probably already well into Web 3.0 and might not even realize it. Mobile tech, the possible rise of mesh networking, and the app-ification of everything may further dis-intermediate our need for the social platform. We may see the re-emergence of the protocol as the foundation for our connected future.
