Sub: All India General Strike – 7th September, 2010 As you are aware, as per the call given by the Central
Trade Unions in their National Convention held on 15th July,
2010, in New Delhi, all the Central Trade Unions are preparing
in full swing for “All India General Strike” on 7th September,
2010.
AIRF fully supports the call given by the Central Trade
Unions and directs its cadre to stage demonstrations/dharnas
all over the Indian Railways against – (i) Price-rise, (ii) Violation
of Labour Laws, (iii) Sale of profit making PSUs, (iv) Effect of
recession, generating unemployment and social security to
unorganized workforce, and (v) Outsourcing, etc. etc. all over
the country by holding massive rallies and demonstrations.
It was discussed and agreed that the Railwaymen cannot
participate in eight-hour strike. Therefore, through the sort of
withdrawal of labour, we should give our all morale support to
the strikers.
