Savannah was absolutely lovely! In the past I've learned while traveling that it is super beneficial to stay in a centrally located hotel when you know you will only be in a city a short time. Although it can be a splurge at times, you can save on the driving around hassle and tricky navigation in the end. We stayed at the AVIA in Savannah, a newer southern boutique-styled hotel and it was a wonderful experience, I would highly recommend it. It was a short walk to pretty much everything in the historic district. There are also tons of bed and breakfast hotels in the city if you ever want to do a romantic getaway.
There are beautiful historic squares (22 of them) all around, it is very well laid out -- a great walking city. I loved the large and dripping trees.
There is a wide variety of different architecture and historic buildings in the city which makes it diverse, charming, and full of history.
We had a pleasant walk along the waterfront walkway, V really enjoyed seeing the water and smelling the nearby flowers.
