Budget 2009-2010 : The spotlight this month highlights the Budget, one of the most important annual fiscal event which not only recites the financial accomplishments of the previous year, but also denotes the new fiscal policy of the government for the forthcoming year. Our overseas Indians have made significant contributions to our economy by adding in considerable measure of knowledge and innovation. Keeping these vital factors we have introduced a new section for our Indian Diaspora that will give them an overview about the opportunities for them in India and will also detail about the Current Scenario and Governing Framework at Central Level as well as State Level, Suggestions and Future Prospects and even the Problems and Effects.

Greetings : The festival of Maha Shivratri (means the 'Grand Night devoted for worshipping of Lord Shiva'). This day is looked upon with greatest reverence and respect by the devotees of Lord Shiva. This festival is celebrated every year on the eve of Krishna Paksh. Elaborate puja ceremonies are performed on this day by chanting various hymns, bhajans of Lord Shiva and performing Rudrabhisheka. Send beautiful and heartfelt Maha Shivratri e-cards through india.gov.in to friends and family and we wish Lord Shiva's divine blessings be showered upon you.

	Did You Know? An Online Public Grievance Lodging and Monitoring System has been designed for the citizens of India through which they can lodge their grievance against any Government organisation in the country. This grievance will be sent to the concerned Ministry/Department/State Government for immediate redressal. Look through our How Do I? Section for details about this and other online services designed to bring the Indian Government closer to its citizens.
