Cirrus shelf

The construction of Cirrus involves a tube, which is made out of a bi-elastic fabric. This tube is slipped over a two-part steel tube frame and zipped shut. Then one part of the skeleton after another is pushed into the fabric cover. The structure is mapped on the double-layered fabric and projected to the outside. The boards glide into openings punched into the tube frame and snap in. The tension exerted by the covering gives the shelf its stability. Effortlessly and smoothly, the covering made of translucent stretch fabric clings to the supporting structure of the open shelf, which blends smoothly into its surrounding.
