Cingular Customers Can Now Search and Browse With the World’s Largest Search Engine
ATLANTA, Ga., and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 10, 2001 – Google Inc., developer of the award-winning Google search engine, today announced that Cingular Wireless customers now have direct access to Google’s easy-to-use search engine. Cingular users can now search and browse the web for the information they need while on the go.
Accessible through the Cingular My Wireless Window portal, Google is the largest search engine on the World Wide Web, providing access to more than 1.3 billion Internet web pages, and 2.2 million WAP-ready web pages. Google’s advanced software automatically converts HTML web pages on the fly into a format optimized for WAP phones. Cingular’s wireless portal, branded My Wireless Window, features web-wide search, calendar, shopping, e-mail, address book and instant messaging.
