Switch The O2 Sensor On The 1997 Acura El 1 6 Motor

The Oxygen sensor on a 1997 Acura EL 1.6 Engine is located on the exhaust manifold in the front of the engine. Thread and tighten the new O2 sensor to the exhaust manifold using the O2 sensor socket and socket wrench.7. Plug the electrical connector back into the O2 sensor.



1. Unbolt the bolts holding the heat shield onto the front of the engine and pull the heat shield off the exhaust manifold.


2. Establish the Oxygen sensor on the exhaust manifold on the front of your Acura's engine. The Oxygen sensor Testament glad eye like a plug stuck into the exhaust manifold and should be readily visible with the heat shield removed.


3. Unplug the electrical leads from the O2 sensor.


4. Turn the O2 sensor counterclockwise using the O2 sensor socket and a socket wrench.
