Instructions

3. Situate one of the jack stands under the vehicle's frame near the floor jack. Adjust the height of the jack stand to match that of the floor jack's height. Carefully lower the floor jack so that the vehicle will now rest on the jack stand.


4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to lift the vehicle on the vehicle's driver side near the front wheel, and secure it on the jack stand.


5. Put on the latex gloves and safety goggles.


6. Go under the truck, and spray the bolts that hold the front pipe's flange to the catalytic converter of the vehicle with the penetrating oil spray. Also, spray the bolts that hold the vehicle's heated oxygen sensor to the front pipe of the exhaust system located just near the flange. Let it sit for a few minutes for the penetrating oil to completely seep into the bolt's threads.


7. Remove the nuts that hold the vehicle's heated oxygen sensor to the front pipe of the exhaust system using the drive ratchet and the 15-mm socket. Use the drive ratchet extension when necessary. Set aside the bolts.


8. Pump the jack until the weight of the vehicle is resting on the floor jack. Remove the jack stand from under the vehicle and lower the vehicle by slowly releasing the floor jack's pressure.17.Repeat step 15 to remove the jack stand at near the vehicle's passenger side wheel, and lower the vehicle.


Pull out the heated oxygen sensor of the vehicle from the exhaust system's front pipe. Remove the gasket seal of the heated oxygen sensor using the slotted screwdriver.


10. Spray all the muffler's hangers and rubber isolators with the penetrating oil spray, and let it sit for a few minutes.


11. Remove all the muffler's hangers from their respective rubber isolators while the muffler is being held up in place by your assistant. Use the pry bar to remove the muffler's hanger. Remove the exhaust system from the vehicle.


12. Remove the gasket seal from the flange of the vehicle's catalytic converter using the slotted screwdriver to pry it off or scrape it off if necessary. Insert the new gasket seal in the flange.


13. Insert the new exhaust system's hangers to the vehicle's muffler rubber isolators while it is being held up once again by your assistant.


14. Place the new gasket seal of the heated oxygen sensor on the front pipe's sensor port. Reinsert the heated oxygen sensor to the front pipe, and secure it by screwing on its nuts using the drive ratchet and 15-mm socket.


15. Reconnect the front pipe's flange with the vehicle's catalytic converter by tightening the flange's bolts and nuts using the drive ratchet and 15-mm socket.


16. Lower the vehicle by placing the floor jack under the vehicle's frame near the jack stand at the vehicle's driver side wheel. Remove the bolts that hold the front pipe's flange to the catalytic converter of the vehicle with the use of the drive ratchet and the 15-mm socket again. Use the drive ratchet extension whenever necessary. Also, set the bolts aside for later use.9.


Remove the wooden blocks placed in front and behind the vehicle's driver side rear wheels.
