Mayweather vs Maidana

September 13th 2014 at the MGM. The
fight looked as if both fighters didn't even trained for this bout. I almost have to laugh. Maidana must not have watched himself from the last fight because he mirrored the performance from May. There was more tension at the weigh in then the fight.

I would have liked to credit both fighters with at least an effort however a fight never broke out. The sport of boxing takes an intelligent fighter to use his or her athletic ability and put it to use or use the weakness of the opponent to their advantage.
This was clearly the case for Mayweather who found himself fighting a repeat scripted fighter who brought zero surprise and zero challenge to the table!

Maidana chased Mayweather around again throwing that telegraphed right hand again and again and again! I would have hoped that Maidana's corner would have coached him as to surprise Mayweather and stand in the middle of the ring and fight. If you are a boxer it is your responsibility to be trained to change when you need to change and surprise the opponent. Maidana could have learned to switch to South Paw then back to standard stance to confuse Mayweather. A left hook from the South Paw stance would have been refreshing to see. I guess Mayweather will continue to dance around and jab his opponents until he is 80 years old.

Till the next time zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
