Coffee Infused Delight

DREW ESTATE JAVA MADURO

I have actually been a fan of this cigar for sometime now. I decided to do this review
to give you guys some insight as to what
Drew Estate has accomplished with the
Java Maduro. This coffee infused cigar is a
wake me up stick that permeates the air and
has everyone asking, what are you smoking? Drew Estate is known for its off the wall cigars. The company produces the Acid Cigars and the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Cigars. In 1998 Jonathan Drew moved to Esteli Nicaragua a tobacco haven with very little money and did not speak the language. Jonathan worked hard for 2 years and managed to create some tantalizing cigars.

The Java Maduro is a Corona sized cigar. I smoked the 5 X 42 box pressed Maduro. The make up of the beautiful cigar is as follows. The wrapper is a Brazilian Mata Fina. The filler is a Nicaragua blend and the binder is a Nicaragua blend. The filler is infused with Espresso beans and Cocoa. The thing that makes this cigar different is that you expect that cheap flavored cigar and you get a high quality taste with all the characteristics of a Nicaraguan product. The construction is perfect. The wrapper shows very little vein and has a nice light oil sheen to it. The box press is great and the wrapper ties the cigar together in a satin brown and gold color.

The first light and puff you are amazed at the flavor. The in stint Vanilla and Wood flavor fill your taste buds. The air is now filled with this Cocoa and Vanilla aroma. The first 1/3 gives you that wow factor of this is a great cigar. You now get the Earth tones and Coffee blend. The burn is fantastic with a light grey smoke and a light ash.

I was at the 1/2 way mark and now you get a Spanish Cedar with a Chocolate flavor. The cigar runs a little hot but the ash remains perfect. The ash is tight and I only tipped into the ashtray at the 1/2 way mark.
The wrapper seems to get a higher sheen to it as it heats. The aroma is now a sweet chocolate and smoked wood. The end of the cigar can get wet do to the fact your reaction is I want to eat this stick instead of smoking it.

The last 1/3 of this cigars makes you kind of sad its going to end. The cigar now has a Spanish Cedar and Earthy flavor with a pinch of Cocoa. The air has a Sweet Nutmeg and Smoked Wood aroma. I would load a humidor with just the Java Maduro for those early Sunday mornings or as a Desert after a nice steak dinner.

The Java Rating:

Construction:  96          Aroma: 96

Flavor:           96          Overall :96

I don't think The Drew Estate Java Maduro in the flavored cigar category has any competitors. I don't know how long they will be around so load up your humidors and enjoy!
