How To Choose Your Cigar

Choosing

your cigar can sometimes be overwhelming. These tips can be learned over time. The first thing is where are you buying your cigars from? The way a person stores the cigars are very important. The humidor should be in working order and kept at 70% humidity level. Visually look around at the stock and how it is maintained. Clean and neat environment and cigars kept separated is ideal.

Your next step is picking a cigar that fits
your mood and taste. Most people will
choose a cigar based on the color. This is
a false representation for flavor or power.
Do a little research through magazines or
simply ask a sales rep as to the
characteristics of the cigar. The next step
is to choose the shape you like. There are
about 16 different sizes too.

After choosing you size its time to   pay close
attention to the construction of that cigar.
The outside "wrapper" should be flawless in
its design. There should be no gaps or tears.
The wrapper should have a healthy color to
it and should not have  spotting or bumps.
The feel should be  anything but dry or flaky.
I personally look for a oily presence or a sheen
that says it has been humidified properly.

Through the clear wrapper feel the cigar. If you notice any soft areas this means the filler is empty and its not going to smoke good. If you notice that there are some very hard spots this means it was constructed wrong and you will have a bad smoke. The feel should be consistent so that the smoke will flow evenly throughout your event.

Enjoy the experience! There are literally thousands of cigars to try and they all smoke and taste different. Happy trails my friends!
