RAM

Full form of RAM is Random Access memory. All The Data entered into the system in directly stored in RAM.RAM is volatile memory because ,when the power is removed from the chips all the memory contents are lost . The user enters the program and data into RAM.It retains stored information as long
as the power supply is on.Its contents are lost when power supply is switch off or physically damage. Hence it is volatile in nature.Ram is three type.

1. Static RAM (SRAM)
2. Dynamic RAM (DRAM)
3. Integrated RAM (iRAM)

 Static RAM -SRAM

In Static RAM (SRAM) stores information are retained in it as long as the power supply is on. It consumes more power and costly. It is very fast memory.

SRAM

 Dynamic RAM -DRAM

DRAM

Dynamic RAM stories its information in the  source capacitor. Due to leakage,the change on these
, usually every 2 milliseconds . The dynamic RAM consumes less power and has higher packing density. tHis RAM is slower than Static RAM (SRAM).
capacitors leaks away after a fey milliseconds. Therefore ,dynamic RAM has to be periodically refreshed

Integrated RAM(iRAM)

iRAM integrates a dynamic RAM and control and refresh circuitry in a single IC. A dynamic RAM required refresh circuitry Earlier,refresh and control circuits for a dynamic chops were on a seperate IC (known as dynamic RAM controller).
