2014 Audi Q7 Review

2014 Audi Q7 Review - The 2014 Audi Q7 ranks 16 out of 19 Luxury Midsize SUVs. This ranking is based on our analysis of published reviews and test drives of the Audi Q7, as well as reliability and safety data.
While reviewers like its fuel-efficient diesel engine option, the 2014 Audi Q7 falls short of rivals that have more cargo space and better handling.
The 2014 Audi Q7 comes with a supercharged V6 that reviewers say provides adequate power. Still, test drivers tend to prefer the optional engines, which include a more powerful supercharged V6 and a turbodiesel V6 that offers the best fuel economy in the lineup. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard, and reviewers say it shifts smoothly. Fuel economy for the base Q7 is an EPA-estimated 16/22 mpg city/highway, which is not all that impressive for the class. However, the diesel model is rated at 19/28 mpg city/highway, which is good for the class. While some reviewers say the Q7 has acceptable handling, many agree that it’s not as athletic as they would like. Additionally, the Q7 loses points from test drivers for its wide turning radius, which they say makes it difficult to maneuver.

Reviewers are pleased with the Q7's tasteful interior design and high-quality cabin materials. Several reviewers say that the seven-seat Q7 has less cargo space behind the third row than other models in the class, though its overall cargo capacity is comparable with what rivals offer. Standard features include an 11-speaker stereo system, rear parking sensors, leather upholstery, heated front seats, Bluetooth and dual-zone automatic climate control. Some reviewers say that Audi's optional MMI infotainment/navigation system is easy to use, while others write that it’s more complicated than infotainment systems like BMW’s iDrive. Other major options include HD Radio, a rear-seat entertainment system and either a Bose or Bang & Olufsen stereo system.
