Playa de Gulpiyuri - A Unique Beach in Spain

Located near Llanes, on the the north-central coast of Spain, Playa de Gulpiyuri is a small oasis in the middle of a grassy meadow. It is only 100 meters from the sea and separated by a cliff. The oasis is connected to the sea by a network of underground caves.

Gulpiyuri Beach is a semicircle shaped beach with just twenty meters in length and a width which at low tide does not exceed this size. The most striking feature of the beach is that you can bathe in it without seeing the sea. Gulpiyuri Beach is possibly the most striking beach on the Asturian Coast of Spain.

Gulpiyuri is not easy to access as it is located between green meadows. This difficulty of access has helped it to remain in good condition. Gulpiyuri is regarded as a small and delicate natural jewel of Spain.
