How to Install an Air Filter in a Roadliner

The Yamaha Roadliner was released in 2007 in response to Harley Davidson's street cruisers. The Roadliner featured an air-cooled, four-stroke engine. The air filter on the Roadliner keeps dirt and other impurities from entering the motorcycle's engine. Replacing the air filter on the Roadliner is part of routine maintenance. The air filter should be changed every 15,000 miles and should be checked and cleaned out every time the oil is changed.

Instructions

    1

Remove the side cover screws with a Phillips screwdriver. The side cover is on the right-hand side of the Roadster, just beneath the gas tank.

    2

Remove the air filter cover screws with an Allen wrench and then pull the air filter cover off. Take the old filter out by hand and then put the new filter in. Replace the filter box cover and screws.

    3

Hold the side cover back in place, insert the retaining screws by hand and then tighten them with the screwdriver.
