Koenigsegg Agera R - One of the World's Fastest Cars

The Koenigsegg Agera R is a supercar hand-built by craftsmen in Sweden and every example of this car appears to be a work of art. It is a successor to the mid-engined sports car Koenigsegg Agera. The Agera R made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011.

It is in essence a special edition Agera, which runs on biofuel, rather than petrol. The in-house developed 5.0-liter V8 engine with twin turbos which produce a total of 1,140 HP. It uses nano-surfaced cylinder sleeves, from ANS, for reduced friction and fuel consumption. The Agera R is also equipped with a unique Triplex suspension and a lighter rear exhaust section.

The Koenigsegg Agera R can accelerate from 0–62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.9 seconds. The car is claimed to reach a theoretical top speed of approximately 275 mph (443 km/h). It is one of the fastest cars in the world and it seems that Koenigsegg is determined to take the supremacy out of Bugatti’s hands. The Agera R is one of the world's most expensive cars, with a price tag of $1.6-$1.7 million.

Aside from the bump in performance, the Agera R also comes with the world’s first hollow, one piece, super light carbon fiber wheel, using a proprietary method developed by Koenigsegg. If you're into snow sports, the Agera R can be fitted with a Ski Box as well as winter tires. While the Agera R has a massive theoretical top speed, the current tested top speed is 260 mph.
