The 2002 F350 was Ford's one-ton entry into the light duty truck market. Sold almost exclusively with a 7.3-liter turbo diesel engine, the F350 was marketed by Ford as a work truck for farmers, ranchers and construction companies, or as a tow vehicle for those who haul fifth wheels and other trailers. Similar in design and appearance to the 3/4-ton F250, the F350 employed a heavier suspension and larger brakes to set itself apart from the F250. The tail lamp assembly on the 2002 F350 houses the reverse light, running light and brake light bulbs.
Instructions
- 1
Turn off the F350's lights and remove the keys from the ignition. Open the tailgate. Remove the two plugs from the tail lamp screw holes located on the side of the bed wall, adjacent to the tail lamp assembly.
2Remove the two tail lamp assembly hex-head retaining screws, using the 6-mm socket, socket extension and socket wrench.
3Pull the tail lamp assembly off the back of the F350 to access the tail light sockets. Depress the socket-retaining ring tab on the socket and rotate the socket counterclockwise. Pull the socket out of the tail lamp assembly.
4Pull the old bulb out of the socket assembly. Insert the new 3157K bulb into the socket. Insert the bulb and socket into the tail lamp assembly and rotate it until it locks into place.
5Slide the tail lamp assembly back into place on the rear of the F350. Reinstall the hex-head retaining screws using the socket, extension and wrench. Reinstall the screw hole plugs and shut the tail gate.
6Test the tail lights before operating the F350.
