Tallest People - List of World's Tallest People Ever

This is a list of the tallest people in the world. These people are recorded as the tallest people in medical history for whom there are ample evidence. They are the tallest people ever - living and dead. There are certain claims but the claims are disputed and for this reason we've excluded them.

1. Robert Wadlow (February 22, 1918 – July 15, 1940)


Robert Wadlow is the tallest person in history for whom there is irrefutable evidence. Wadlow reached 8 feet 11.1 inches (2.72 meter) in height and weighed 439 pounds (199 kg) at his death at age 22. His height was confirmed by Guinness World Records.

2. John Rogan (1867/1868 – September 12, 1905)


John Rogan is the second tallest person in recorded history. At the time of his death, he measured 8 feet 9 inches (2.67 meter) tall, but weighed only 175 pounds (79 kg), making him the tallest person of African descent. Rogan was unable to stand due to ankylosis.

3. Vaino Myllyrinne (February 27, 1909 – April 13, 1963)


Vaino Myllyrinne was recognized as the tallest living person from 1940 to his death in 1963. He is said to have been 8 feet 3 inches (2.51 meter) in his thirties. He stood 7 feet 3.4 inches at the age of 21, but experienced a second phase of growth in his late thirties, attaining a height of 8 feet 3 inches.

4. Edouard Beaupre (January 9, 1881 – July 3, 1904) 


Edouard Beaupre was a circus and freak show giant, strongman, and a star in Barnum and Bailey's circus. In 1902, Edouard's height was measured at 8 feet 2.5 inches (2.50 meters) and he weighed over 400 pounds (180 kilograms). His death certificate described him as being 8 ft 3 in (2.51 m) tall and still growing.

5. Sultan Kosen (December 10, 1982 - )


Sultan Kosen holds the Guinness World Record for tallest living male at 8 ft 3 inches (2.51 meter). He became the tallest living man when his height was recorded at 8 feet 1 inches (2.47 meter) on August 25, 2009. On February 9, 2011 Kosen was measured by Guinness at 8 ft 3 inches (2.51 meter).
