How to Remove the Vent Windows on a Chevy Truck

The vent windows are not the large windows on your Chevrolet truck, but rather the small, usually triangular shaped windows behind the main window that cannot be lowered. The vent window is only held in place by a single screw. Once the screw is loosened, the rod retaining the vent window is loose and you can easily remove the vent window from the main window assembly. It should only take you fifteen minutes to remove the vent window.

Instructions

    1

Park the Chevrolet vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.

    2

Open up the door containing the window you will be removing.

    3

Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the clips securing the door panel to the door. There are a total of eight black clips on newer trucks. On older trucks, the door panel is held in by several screws. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws, then remove the door panel.

    4

Remove the screw underneath the vent window with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

    5

Push the window out of the door slowly, supporting it from the other side and pull it out of the door.
